Cabot/Koppers

The Cabot/Koppers site includes two properties, the Koppers property and the Cabot Carbon property. The Koppers property includes the area where a wood treating facility operated between 1916 and 2009. The Cabot Carbon property includes the area where a charcoal production facility operated. EPA placed the site on the #660099; font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15.59375px;">National Priorities List (NPL) in 1984 because of contaminated soil and ground water resulting from facility operations. EPA, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and Beazer East, Inc. and Cabot Corporation, the site’s potentially responsible parties (PRPs), have investigated site conditions and taken steps to clean up the site in order to protect people and the environment from #660099; font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15.59375px;">contamination. A water line connects residences and businesses to the public water supply.
