Mandalation
The digital cinema installation, entitled Mandalation, is designed to represent and supplement the translational practice performed in the CTRB at the University of Florida. Historically architecture functioned as an interface relating microcosm with macrocosm, individual with collective mind.
EEG AR: Things We Have Lost
“EEG AR: Things We Have Lost,” will allow participants to conjure up virtual objects by simply imagining them into existence using brainwave sensor technology. We will generate a database of objects based on the broad theme of “Things We Have Lost,” which includes things such as pensions, empires and dodo birds. We will outfit test subjects with EEG-reading brainwave sensors and ask them to think deeply about what he or she has lost.
Border Memorial: Frontera de los Muertos
The “Border Memorial: Frontera de los Muertos,” is an augmented reality public art project and memorial, dedicated to the thousands of migrant workers who have died along the U.S./Mexico border in recent years, trying to cross the desert southwest in search of work and a better life. This project allows people to visualize the scope of the loss of life by marking each location where human remains have been recovered along the border and the surrounding desert.
Imaging Place
[dropcap type="3"]I[/dropcap]n 1997, four years before the initial release of Google Earth’s predecessor Earthviewer, the Florida Research Ensemble (FRE) began work on “Imaging Place,” a place-based virtual reality project that combines panoramic still photography and video, with three-dimensional virtual reality to document situations where the forces of globalization are impacting the lives of individuals in local communities. We continue to work on this project in various forms to this day.
Murphy's Well-Being
In this interactive video installation the Florida Research Ensemble (FRE), working on behalf of an online consultancy, the EmerAgency, uses Arts and Letters practices to render perceptible some of the forces at work in the Koppers Superfund site.

Florida Rushmore
[dropcap type="3"]F[/dropcap]lorida Rushmore is an experiment in electronic monumentality. It began as a proposal to construct an electronic version of Mount Rushmore, as a holographic projection, installed at the Devil's Millhopper state park, near Gainesville, Florida. A version of the description (originally published in a catalog for an art exhibition), is available online.
